As part of the Eldorado programme, lille3000 is devising three highlight weekends centred on the outstanding themes of this new edition:
17 > 19 MAY
07 > 09 JUNE
19 > 21 JUL
SAVE THE DATE : MOON WEEK-END
JULY FRY 19 > SUN 21
During the night of July 20 to July 21, 1969, Neil Armstrong landed man’s first step on the Moon. To celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, lille3000 is celebrating this historic step by offering a thematic programme. On 19, 20 and 21 July 2019, in Lille and the European Metropolis of Lille, the public will be thrilled with a myriad of events: installations, space photography, open-air cinemas, parties and concerts.
Humans have always been fascinated by the space they dream of conquering. From Emperor Wan-Hu (often considered the first astronaut in the world) who in the 14th century attached 47 rockets to a chair, until the launch of the dog Laïka, the first living being put into orbit around the Earth in 1957 and a probe on Mars in 1971, from the “space race” that saw American and Soviet astronautics compete until 1975, to the recent development of space tourism led by major private companies, this Eldorado is the subject of all desires and fantasies.
