Art & Jardins

“Landscape art and visual art, which are resolutely contemporary, enter the public space through gardens, through the city, at the heart of the built and natural heritage. This raises questions about sustainable development, social integration and basic resources, water, agriculture and food.” Gilbert Fillinger.

In 2010, at the initiative of its director Gilbert Fillinger, the Maison de la Culture d’Amiens created Art, Villes et Paysage, a festival of landscape designs and installations of works of art in the Hortillonnages islets of Amiens and along the Somme.

In 2018, this international garden festival is still continuing, supported by the Art & Jardins design label, directed by Gilbert Fillinger.

As a producer of contemporary landscape works in public spaces, the association, headed by Gilbert Fillinger, reveals and questions the region’s heritage sites. It is also developing other sustainable regional projects in the Hauts-de-France, such as the Jardins de la Paix.
Regional sites for the Jardins de la Paix and Jardins de la vallée de la Somme with Art & Jardins: Abbeville, Amiens (Art, Villes et Paysage – Amiens, hortillonnages), Arras, Craonne, Compiègne, Fromelles, Le Quesnoy, Long, Neuville-Saint-Vaast, Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, Péronne, Saint-Quentin, Thiepval, Vimy.
